Question - what are the four fruits in the Doha –‘Shriguru charan saroj raj nij manu mukuru sudhaari | Baranaun raghubar bimal jasu jo daayaku fal chaari ||' (Hanumaan chalisa).

Bapu's answer - ‘The fruits that are commonly quoted are dharma, arth, kaam and moksha. But I think these are efforts (purushaartha) for actual fruits.

  1. The actual fruit of dharma (religion) is dispassion (vairaagya) and the nectar of this fruit is devotion in the feet of the Lord.
  2. The fruit of arth (wealth) is the material facility and not pleasure (sukh). The real pleasure is to share the wealth with others.
  3. The fruit of kaam (desire) is experienced when it leads to Ram (spirituality).
  4. The fruit of moksha (salvation) is freedom from delusion while living in the world.
Question - What is the difference between Karma and Kripa?
Bapu's answer - Karma (action) can bring you fruits but Kripa (grace) can bring you rasa (nectar or essence of the fruit).
Question - what is the difference between sukh (material comforts) and shanti (peace)?
Bapu's answer: Sukh is worthless without shanti. It can become distorted without shanti.
Question - What is a difference between a sect (sampradaaya) and religion (dharma)?
Bapu's answer: The difference between the two is quite clear. A leader starts a sect at a specific time and sometimes it is seen that it comes to an end also. Whereas religion is based on God's initiation and it has no date of origin. Religion is immortal; it may go through some alterations at times but never gets ruined. A sect may instruct that any negative element is evil, but religion teaches that anything (whether positive or negative) that gets beyond moderation may be injurious.
Question - How does the dust of sadaguru's feet (Charan Rajj) work on the mind of a shishya?
Bapu's answer: It is a matter of faith where the remedy (dust of sadaguru's feet) is outer and it works to purify the inner element (mind). Just like when one applies perfume on the body, the mind feels good
Question: What is better, service (seva) or dharma (religion) ?
Bapu's answer: Don't separate the two. According to Shri Ramcharitmanas, “Seva dharamu katthin jagu jana”- serving others can be a Dharma in itself .
Question: why is it that Agni (fire) is chosen for doing aarti ?
Bapu's answer: Aarti is performed with the help of all the five elements of universe, not just fire. According to the actual ceremony, some fragrance is offered before aarti, that is an indication of earth element. Fire (agni) cannot exist without air element. It is performed in free space, which is aakash (sky) element and finally it ends with jal parikrama (water element)
Essential Elements for Seekers of Divine Path

You should decide six things in your life. And these are essential prerequisites for every devotee. Particularly in the life of every devotee who is seeking Devine path: -

1. Sant - There should be one Sant (Saint) in the life of every individual. Take refuge in one Saint as soon as possible. Be of one preceptor (SadaGuru), the pure teacher. Don't Delay. Such a Saint could guide you.

2. Kant - Meaning Husband, your personal favorite God (Eastdev). There should be one personal Lord in everyone's life. It could be anyone like Ram, Krishna, Shiva, Durga or any one of God's Incarnations. Accept any divine form from our basic culture and surrender to him.

3. Sutra (Principles or Maxim) Sutra's of Life - Act According to one (Maxim) guiding principle. Some have the principle of social service. Some may run a charitable kitchen and provide food without any charge; some may give comfort to patients in the hospital. The Sutra means the tread, and without the thread even the most expansive pearl will fall, get lost. You won't be able to find it…Gandhiji used to say that Truth is my God; the Truth became the sutra for his Life. The Sutra for Buddha was Karuna, meaning compassion. Mahavir's sutra was Ahimsa, meaning non-violence. Therefore, follow one maxim. Would you say, which Sutra? There are many Sutras in our scriptures. Make you choice according to your nature. If you can't select one, then ask a Saint. But pick one Sutra for you life.

4. Mantra - (Sacred Word) every individual should have one mantra. It should be given by a SadaGuru. It could be from the Vedas, Mahamantra or name of God. Whatever is given by your SadaGuru just hold it to your heart.

5. Panth (Path) Every individual should have one path to follow. In Vedic philosophy, there are three paths, a path of knowledge, a path of devotion or worship, and a path or Karma (deeds). In the Vedas there are over 80000 mantras for actions oriented towards results. There are 20000 mantras for the path of Salvation. Out of that 4000 are for the path of Knowledge, and 16000 for the path of devotion. Out of three paths shown to us by the Vedas, choose one according to your nature. So decide one path. This is not a talk about a sectarian path

6. Granth (scripture of Holy Book) in you life, there should be one holy book. It could be Ramayan, Bhagwat, or Gita. Or Upanishad, or Brahmsutra. You worship it ritually every day. You recite that everyday. Don't think of a Scripture as a book. Why do you carry Ramayan Granth on your head? It not only a book but also it is our head (brain)
