Meaning: On tuesday, the ninth of the lunar month of Chaitra, this story shed its lustre at Ayodhya.
It was the ninth day of the bright half of the sacred month of Chaitra; the moon had entered the asterism named Abhijit, which is so dear to Sri Hari.
