Dharam na dusara satya samana | Aagam nigam puran bakhana ||
Param dharam sruti bidit ahinsa | Per ninda sam agha na garisa ||
Meaning: There is no virtue equal to truthfulness: so declare the Agamas (Tantras), Vedas and Puranas. A vow of non-violence is the highest religious merit known to the Vedas; and there is no sin as grievous as speaking ill of others.
